PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — U.S. Marshals have made an arrest in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a Temple University student along Kelly Drive last month.

Marshals arrested Derek Reid, 48, on Thursday in West Oak Lane. Authorities said he was a suspect in the hit-and-run death of 20-year-old Bryce Wolfe. He was also wanted for charges of rape, sexual assault and corruption of minor in connection with the alleged assault of a juvenile male in 2021.

Wolfe was riding his motorcycle on Kelly Drive on June 24 around 11 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV trying to make an illegal turn onto Reservoir Drive. Police said the SUV swerved at the last minute and right into Wolfe’s path.

Police said the driver then dragged Wolfe a mile down the road, going into the city, until his body broke free around Fountain Green Drive. The driver took off and Wolfe died hours later at the hospital.

Authorities were previously searching for white Chevy SUV captured on surveillance video in connection with the incident. Wolfe’s family was also offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the driver.
