PATCO delays plans to cut back overnight trains after feedback from riders

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — PATCO's plan to run fewer trains overnight starting on Monday has been delayed. 

There has been a lot of reaction to PATCO's overnight schedule change and Delaware River Port Authority CEO John Hanson says time is needed to review it all.

"We delayed the night owl service. The targeted implementation date now is Saturday June 1. We are analyzing feedback that we received from the riders and from the community. In addition, we got some complaints about the amount of time of the notice, so we are going to give people more notice on this to see if we can make anymore changes to this schedule," Hanson said. 

Hanson says the previously proposed night owl service would have trains coming every hour instead of every 45 minutes and half of PATCO's 12 stations will be open. PATCO says the delay of trains and fewer stations in operation will increase passenger safety and enable an officer to be on every train.
