Santa flew into Cooper Hospital on this hospital's chopper to visit the kids in their pediatric unit.
"It's my understanding that Santa has a list of hospitals and he checks it twice," said hospital co-president and CEO Anthony Mazzarelli.
"And we made the list again this year so that's why Santa decided to come," he added.
Waiting for him in the pediatric playroom was 4-year-old Hailey, and her mom, Rebecca Gonzales, says the visit helped.
"A lot of the kids are down, they're not feeling great. Honestly, my daughter's been sick for a few days so it really uplifted her spirits, made her feel a lot better," Gonzales said.
Mazzarelli says increasing a patient's engagement and improving the relationship with their caregivers has been shown to have benefits.
"It can even be shown to lower costs. So these kinds of things are nice but can also make a patient feel connected and it's actually been shown in multiple studies to improve outcomes," he said.
