Philadelphia Union fans get involved with 'Fight for Philly' initiative

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Union and the club's fanatical fans continue to help the community during the pandemic.

As the Philadelphia Union continue to help the community with the Fight for Philly initiative, Union Foundation Executive Director Paul Howard said the loyal fans of the club have also done their part.

"Fans could buy a Fight for Philly T-shirt for $25. I have to tell we sold out four times and had to re-order more T-shirts," he said.

As the team and the fans continue to make an impact, Howard says they are all looking forward to the day when soccer returns.

"I personally cannot wait for that match day where I'm stood underneath the river end, feeling the vibrations of the dances to the rhythms of the Sons of Ben champions," he expressed.

The Union's Fight for Philly program has donated items such as lunches, face shields and KN95 masks to local hospitals.
