Police respond to reports of shooting from Doylestown home; one suspect in custody

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities say a stand-off in Doylestown has now been resolved with one person in custody after a report of shots fired from a home led to heavy police presence outside that home Thursday evening.

The police incident on Belmont Square has been resolved with no injuries. One subject is in custody. The shelter in place has been lifted and evacuated residents may return to their homes. Be alert and patient however for remaining first responders and emergency vehicles

The affected area was at Belmont Square near E Street and Court Street.

Police are on scene responding to reports of a shooting in the area of Belmont Square in Doylestown Borough near the intersection of Court and East streets. Neighbors should call 911 and shelter in place unless evacuated. Please avoid the area.

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said courthouse security personnel were monitoring the departure of court staff, judges and jurors from the courthouse to ensure they got to their cars safely during the stand-off.
