Police say 2 pipe bombs found in Caln Township

Police are warning residents in Caln Township, Chester County to be alert after two pipe bombs were discovered a half a mile away from each other within two days.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are warning residents in Caln Township, Chester County to be alert after two pipe bombs were discovered a half a mile away from each other within two days.

The first device was found at 14th Avenue and Olive Street but hadn't been detonated.  

According to police, a mail worker found the pipe bomb around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. 

The second device, which did go off, was discovered at South Caln Road and Olive Street on Wednesday.

Authorities say both devices are similar and appear to be “homemade." 

Police are warning people if they see any suspicious devices to immediately call 911.
