PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — To the cashiers, cleaning staff and transit workers, Philly says "thank you."
Those messages are popping up on shuttered businesses all over Center City, after they were forced to close because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 4-by-6-foot posters thank all of the essential workers keeping Philly up and running during the crisis.

The posters cover the bleak boarded windows on closed businesses with colorful messages of gratitude. Two street artists were hired to hang the 50 posters.
The Mayor's Office and Visit Philadelphia coordinated the effort.
Visit Philly President and CEO Jeff Guaracino said the words of appreciation are not just for essential workers, but for everyone going through the crisis.
"Everyone. Those of us who are staying at home and doing our part, and those of us who are going out and doing their job to support us," he said.
