SEPTA’s Andrew Busch said, as more people are returning to work in Center City offices, regional rail ridership is likely to slowly tick upward.
Riders will need to pick up a Key Card at a Center City SEPTA regional rail station ticket office or at a fare kiosk before they can begin loading a balance into the Travel Wallet.
It also automatically picks up the proper zone discounts for the user.
“And, from there, they don’t have to worry about having in-person transactions, interacting with a conductor or other personnel,” Busch said. “They can just go pay as they travel and then reload online, reload at a fare kiosk machine at a station.”
Busch said SEPTA already has been using the Travel Wallet on its bus routes, trolley lines, the Broad Street Line subway and the Market-Frankford Line.
