After they met on the Kik app last month, authorities say 49-year-old Charles Torrence and the girl texted each other and talked on Facetime for about a week.
Torrence then picked her up at her home in Ocean County and brought her back to his place in Marlton, where they had sex.
The girl and her parents told police about this, who passed the information along to the Burlington County Prosecutors Office.
Torrence has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
He'll have a detention hearing in Superior Court this week.
