The 18-year-old high school senior testified he was one of four employees in the Wawa on Old Sugartown Road, around 8:20 p.m. on March 28. He was working the register when he saw Brian Kennedy walk in, holding a long, black rifle, which he described as a gun "they use in the Army."
The teen said he made eye contact with Kennedy and he looked “angry and determined.”
He said Kennedy walked back to the coffee station and opened fire at a woman from about 3 feet away, firing five or six shots.
The teen ducked behind the counter as Kennedy walked back around the register and left the store, never saying a word.
Kennedy’s ex-wife, Stephanie Miller, died from multiple gunshot wounds. Police say she thought she was meeting her ex-husband to pick up their 6-year-old son as part of their custody arrangement.
Kennedy is ordered to stand trial on all charges, including first-degree murder. His formal arraignment is scheduled for next week in Delaware County court.
