Murphy said one feature on the site allows voters to track their mail-in ballot to be sure it will be counted.
“Once your ballot is sent to you later this month, you’ll also be able to set up a secure account to track when it is received by your county clerk,” Murphy said. “That’s a question we get all the time: ‘How do I know my vote gets there? How do I know my ballot gets there? How do I know it’ll be counted?’ Turns out you can know that.”
Already-registered voters can confirm their status on the site as well.
Oct. 13 is New Jersey’s registration deadline for the November election.
At his regular coronavirus briefing, Murphy also said with indoor dining resuming over the holiday weekend, there have not been reports of crowds without masks or people not following social distancing rules.
“We had very few reported cases of knucklehead behavior. And this gives us all some hope for the days ahead as we continue to battle this virus,” he said.
The state also put Delaware and Maryland back on its travel advisory list.
“Delaware, Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia have been added to the list. Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands have been removed,” Murphy said.
Visitors to New Jersey from 35 states on the list are asked to quarantine for 14 days.
“It makes no sense, although our cases have risen, how you can be one week on one week off, it just doesn’t make a lot of sense. But what it should be is another signal to all of us we really need to lean in to all these protections and restrictions,” said Delaware Gov. John Carney.
He’s continuously called the criteria for a state to be included on the travel advisory flawed.
