PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Camden County authorities say the police officer who hit and killed a female pedestrian Wednesday night in his patrol car was responding to a call and did have his emergency lights flashing moments before hitting her.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office says the victim is a 17-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was at the intersection of East State Street and Harrison Avenue in the Kramer Hill section of East Camden.
They declined to release her name or the name of the Camden County police officer who was driving the patrol car.
A temporary memorial with lit candles and flowers in memory of the teen has been erected at the accident scene.
The prosecutor's office described the investigation as ongoing and had no other details to release at this point.
