Yard waste has been stacking up on the side of the road in some Bucks County and Montgomery County communities for weeks.
Bill Fox Jr., general counsel for J.P. Mascaro & Sons, says the curfews on city residents and the suspension of public transportation forced the company to shut down yard waste pickup for a while.
"We have about 100 employees who live in the city that rely on public transportation to get out to our Bridgeport operating division, and they were unable to get to work," Fox said.
Then to add insult to injury, Mother Nature delivered slamming winds to the region.
"It wreaked havoc with yard waste and trees, limbs — all sorts of stuff happened. And residents had to get rid of it, and that caused us to get behind on our scheduling," he said.
Fox says some residents still have yard waste at the curb, but most of the service is back on schedule. He expects all yard waste to be picked up in the new few days.
