Kevin McCorry joined KYW Newsradio as News Director in February 2022. He brings more than a decade of experience as a multimedia reporter and editor in the Philadelphia market where he wrote and oversaw breaking news and enterprise projects, in addition to narrative and interview podcasts.
Before KYW, Kevin spent 10 years at WHYY and collaborated frequently with NPR. Highlights of that time included leading the Keystone Crossroads team's reporting on education, politics and the economy, in addition to creating the Schooled podcast and frequently guest-hosting Radio Times.
Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in film and television production from DeSales University and worked in that industry in California and New York before pursuing journalism. He holds a master's degree in English from Arcadia University and can fake his way through conversations about William Butler Yeats and James Joyce.
Kevin grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and currently resides in the Northwest with his wife and (4!) young children. When he's not hiking the Wissahickon with his family, he's (slowly) fixing up his 1870s home or making music with friends.
