Sara Smith joined KYW Newsradio in September, 2021 as the Digital Audience Engagement Editor.

Prior to KYW, Sara spent 6 years as the social media editor at NBC10/Telemundo 62 where she managed strategy for all social platforms and was an integral part of launching NBC10's integration show, Philly Live in 2019. She has been recognized for her work in integration, digital journalism and social media, winning a regional Emmy, regional and national Edward R. Murrow awards.

Sara is a graduate of Kutztown University who began her career at CN8, The Comcast Network on the production crew before making the switch to producing and eventually into digital.

She also spent 5 years as a communications manager in Southeastern Pennsylvania and national spokesperson for the American Red Cross. During that time, she responded to and told the Red Cross story of local and large scale national disasters such as Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and tornado outbreaks near Tulsa, Oklahoma and in southern Illinois.

Sara is originally from the Pittsburgh area, but now resides in West Chester with her husband, 2 kids, cat and 110lb golden doodle, Buzz.
