PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend on The KYW To-Do List: Let your pup get up close and personal with wildlife, learn about Philadelphia's selfie-worthy cherry blossom season, or catch a prix fixe nosh in Northern Liberties.

EVENT: Shofuso Cherry Blossom Viewing: Virtual Ohanami

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Online

DETAILS: It's peak viewing time for the cherry blossoms, and this year, you can view the special programming at Shofuso from home. There will be a presentation on cherry blossom appreciation, cherry tree workshop and Tamagawa University taiko performance.

EVENT: Please Touch Museum reopens (members only)

WHERE: Please Touch Museum, 4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia

DETAILS: The Please Touch Museum is reopening for members only for the next two weekends, then will open to the public on April 22. Time slots are filling up fast, so make sure to register in advance.

EVENT: Paul Robeson's 123rd birthday

DATE/TIME: Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.

WHERE: Online

DETAILS: The home and now museum where athlete, actor, singer, cultural scholar, author, and political activist Paul Robeson lived is celebrating his birthday and legacy with a night of tributes. Through the tribute, the museum is hoping to raise $10,000 to help create safe visits and support ongoing infrastructure repairs.

WHERE: Online and two drive-in events

DETAILS: The 14th annual Media Film Festival features more than 90 films from 20 countries. The 10-day festival is mostly online, but there will be two special drive-in showings at Arasapha Farm in Glen Mills.

EVENT: Octavius Catto lecture

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 1 p.m.

WHERE: Online

DETAILS: Among civil rights activist Octavius Catto's pursuits were desegregating streetcars, recruiting Black soldiers and helping Black Philadelphians register to vote. He was murdered in broad daylight on Election Day in 1871. Join Amy Cohen, director of education at History Making Production, for an informative talk on Catto's life and death.

GET OUTDOORS

EVENT: Dog Days at Elmwood Park Zoo

DATE/TIME: Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown

DETAILS: Dogs are considered to be a part of the family. So why shouldn't they be allowed to go to the zoo? If this date fills up, dogs will also be allowed on April 21 and 23.

PRICE: Registration is required; $10.95 per dog

EVENT: Tree planting in Neshaminy State Park

DATE/TIME: Saturday and Sunday; times vary

WHERE: Neshaminy State Park, 3401 State Road, Bensalem

DETAILS: Nearly 2 acres of the park are currently covered by invasive plants. Come out and help remove these species and plant new trees to provide a habitat for insects and for migrating birds.

EVENT: Northern Liberties Restaurant Week

DATE: April 9-18

WHERE: Various restaurants in Northern Liberties

DETAILS: More than 20 restaurants are offering two-course lunches or three-course dinners over the next week. Enjoy the spring weather and outdoor seating, and come hungry.
