PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As we continuously adapt to whatever 2020 — and now 2021! — throws at us, there’s still fun to be had with family and friends in and around Philadelphia.
Scroll below for a list of things to do this weekend — from a safe and social distance, of course.
HOLIDAY STROLLS
It’s been a challenging year, but Peddler’s Village is offering some holiday cheer. Stroll through the village to find enchanted beverages, curated (and belated) gifts, restaurants and food tents, gingerbread houses, and more amid holiday lights and festivity.
A Longwood Christmas will make your holiday season oh so merry and bright. Take a ride through the gardens on the Garden Railway or sit by a cozy firepit — either way, you’ll be surrounded by lights. Buy a timed ticket on its website.
DAZZLING LIGHT SHOWS
Head to South Philly for the Miracle on 13th Street Lights between 5 and 10 p.m. any night for a spectacular free display of neighbors’ Christmas decorations. The residents of 13th Street proudly decorate their block with lights of hope and holiday cheer for all to enjoy.
Drive through more than 3 million lights illuminating acres of farmland at Shady Brook Farm’s Holiday Light Show. Encounter the whimsy as you drive throughout, all from the comfort of your own car, or — weather permitting — an open-air wagon ride.
Feel the glow of holidays past and present as you step into the illuminated escape that is Winter on Broad Street. Boasting nearly 200 sculptures and displays, this is a wonderland you’re not going to want to miss. Reserve your tickets online in advance.
A super family-friendly event, A Very Furry Christmas, takes place at Sesame Place. The park is transformed into a one-of-a-kind winter wonderland with millions of lights and festive decorations. Guests have the opportunity to go on a train ride within the park, watch a holiday show, and of course, take a socially-distant photo with Santa. Purchase your tickets online.
