PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Whether it's on the ice, in a yurt, or at home prepping for Valentine's Day — you have two weeks left, by the way — we've got you covered with a fun array of activities for the last weekend of January.
Play mini golf at Franklin Square or boardwalk games at the Delaware River Waterfront. Enjoy a storytelling journey that combines African-American history and horticulture. Or, check out the many views at the new Wonderspaces museum.
There's plenty more, too, only on this weekend's KYW To-Do List.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
Head over to Chestnut Hill on Ice, a pop-up iceless ice skating rink, with live ice carvings, a designer-built yurt village, and more — this weekend only.
Winter traditions continue at Dilworth Park's Winterfest with ice skating, cozy cabin food and drink, and whimsical walks through the Wintergarden. Lights and winter magic are in store for you too at Winter in Franklin Square. Don't miss the playgrounds with mini golf and a carousel.
Last but not least, check out the quintessential Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest at the Delaware River Waterfront, for more ice skating, boardwalk games and a Ferris wheel.
OUTDOORS OR INDOORS
Embark on a storytelling experience with the Deeply Rooted event at Longwood Gardens, where storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston honors and celebrates the strength, resilience and contributions of the African-American community through the lens of horticulture. Experience the ancient myths and powerful symbolism in person or virtually.
Check out the lush greenhouse environment with fresh food and local beverages at the debut of Parks Pop-Up Restaurant at the Fairmount Horticulture Center, led by the team behind Parks on Tap. Reservations — with a maximum of groups of four per table — are encouraged. A portion of all sales benefit Philadelphia parks.
One of Philadelphia's most popular new cultural attractions is back: The interactive Wonderspaces museum returns Friday. Debuting one year ago with thousands of sold-out tickets, the museum is permanently open now, with 15 immersive and interactive exhibits.
Then, join the Evil Genius Beer Company on Saturday for an evening of all things Marvel-verse for Marvel Day. Expect movies, costumes and an appropriately themed special beer can release to commemorate the occasion. Reservations are highly encouraged.
On Sunday morning, get your Valentine's Day cards ready at Weavers Way Co-op's "Make-in." Log on and prepare to make your cards as simple or elaborate as you like, using materials you have at home.
