PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It’s a new year with some old favorites.

Museums are back open after a six-week recess. Scavenger hunts and food tours are in full swing, as are your health-centric New Year’s resolutions. Squat into 2021 with The KYW To-Do List.

The four major Parkway museums all plan to reopen this week: the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, and the Academy of Natural Sciences.

The Penn Museum also opens on Friday — don’t miss the month-long CultureFest! starting this weekend — and the Betsy Ross House is open for visitors.

Be sure to check each museum’s website for details on advanced, timed ticket sales, temperature screenings, and more updated protocols.

Try your hand at the WinTOUR Scavenger Hunt. Participants explore five different routes throughout East and West Fairmount Park, each with one of five themes: historic homes, public art, nature, water, and past and present. Join solo, or set up a team.

Another cold-weather classic: Head over to the Delaware River Waterfront for RiverRink Winterfest. Grab a pair of skates and hit the ice. Seeking solstice in more stationary activities? Cozy up by a fire pit, play a game on the boardwalk, or score some seasonal food and drinks.

On Saturday and Sunday, get back to your roots with the Flavors of Philly Food Tour. Local favorites and independently owned gems await you — and your stomach — on a five-stop tour in the heart of Philadelphia. Purchase tickets online in advance.

Searching for your next reptile, amphibian, or arachnid buddy? Look no further: The East Coast Reptile Super Expo is in town. Learn about venomous and non-venomous reptiles, and even participate in a raffle. Reserve your ticket online in advance, or pay cash at the door.

Also on Saturday and Sunday, join The Film Collective for a free and virtual showcase of short films, music videos, documentaries, and more from around the world. Reserve your free ticket in advance.

Get those 2021 fitness goals off to a flying start. Never Give Up Training, an exercise studio in Manayunk, is offering online and in-studio classes. Choose from strength workouts, boot camps, and more.

BodyRock Bootcamp, featured on the latest season of Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” try HIIT agility, kickboxing, and more, both indoors and outdoors.

Or, try your hand (no pun intended) at kickboxing this year at CKO Kickboxing. Bring your own gloves, and join one of many 45-minute classes in Center City.

From a distance, try a livestreamed workout with a group, one-on-one with a personal trainer, or even via an on-demand class, like Ripped PHL, one of Philadelphia’s favorite high-intensity workout destinations. You can join outdoors too. Either way, reach your goals and see results.
