WHERE: Awbury Arboretum, 1 Awbury Road, East Germantown
DETAILS: The arboretum and environmental education organization Let’s Go Outdoors are teaming up for a family-friendly afternoon in the great outdoors. Learn about Wingohocking Creek, take a craft home, and learn to Geocache — which is like hide-and-seek, but you use a GPS device.

EVENT: Camping Noire's Annual Mother's Day Pop-Up Goddess Hike
DATE/TIME: Saturday, 8:45 to 11 a.m.
WHERE: Meet at Forbidden Drive upper parking lot in Wissahickon Park, West Bells Mill Road
DETAILS: Do something a little out of the ordinary this Mother’s Day weekend and take her on a 2.5-mile hike through the Wissahickon. All skill levels are welcome to come on this annual trek.

The museum’s core exhibit, “Audacious Freedom: African Americans in Philadelphia 1776 – 1876,” has been redesigned for a hands-free experience.
