EVENT: East Passyunk Shop Small Sidewalk Sale

DATE/TIME: All day Saturday

WHERE: Along East Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia

DETAILS: Find something unique and vintage at this special sidewalk sale in South Philadelphia. There will be live music and plenty of dining options from local businesses.

EVENT: Second Saturdays in Chestnut Hill

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 2 to 6 p.m.

WHERE: 7600 to 8600 blocks of Germantown Avenue, Chestnut Hill

DETAILS: View the newest exhibits at Chestnut Hill's art galleries as you stroll up and down Germantown Avenue during its new Second Saturdays event. There will be family-friendly activities, live music and plenty of shopping.

EVENT: Berwyn Vintage Flea Market

CELEBRATIONS

EVENT: 2021 Tanabata at Shofuso

DATE: Through July 14

WHERE: Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, Lansdowne Drive and Horticultural Drive, Fairmount Park

DETAILS: In Japan, Tanabata is the yearly star festival celebrated on July 7. It is the one day a year where two celestial lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi, are said to meet. Come to Shofuso to make a wish of your own, which will be added to the bamboo trees. There will also be a virtual tour available.

PRICE: $12 for adults, $8 for kids

EVENT: Philadelphia Piazzolla Festival

DATE: Begins Sunday and runs through July 18

WHERE: Sunday's event is at Greensgrow Farms, 2501 E. Cumberland St., Philadelphia

DETAILS: Astor Piazzolla fused tango music with elements from classical, jazz and other genres, creating a unique style called nuevo tango. Come out for the opening performance, an intimate concert with Horacio Romo on the bandoneon and Pablo Agri on the violin.

EVENT: Butterfly Festival

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 12 to 4 p.m.

WHERE: 100 Hessian Ave., National Park, New Jersey

DETAILS: There are many ways to incorporate plants into your yard that attract hard-working bees. Learn about the importance of bees and pollinators with tours of the butterfly house, free classes, a bug parade and many more family-friendly activities.

ANIMALS & ART

EVENT: Breakfast with the Giraffes

DATE/TIME: Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

WHERE: Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown

DETAILS: Come out for a socially distanced buffet-style breakfast right next to some towering giraffes. Your ticket includes access to the zoo and an exclusive giraffe feeding.

EVENT: Wonderspaces Philadelphia

DETAILS: Wonderspaces has added three new installments from international artists for your viewing pleasure. One features a giant inflatable sculpture with landscapes of microscopic organisms.
