PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly, eat your way through different cuisines at the city’s first ever African Restaurant Week. Celebrate spring and forgiveness at the Festival of Colors at the Philadelphia Zoo. And, play bingo drag style with over the top musical numbers and prizes at the Congregation Rodeph Shalom.

Most of the restaurants are located in Southwest Philadelphia, with some around Woodland Ave. Some are offering 15 percent off orders of $20 or more. Participating restaurants include Sahara African Food, Abyssinia, and Ackee Tree Restaurant.

WHERE: Philadelphia Zoo, 3400 W Girard Ave., West Philadelphia

DETAILS: The Philadelphia Zoo and the Council of Indian Organizations is hosting Holi, a celebration of spring, the end of winter and the blossoming of love. For many, Holi is a festive day to make new friends, forget and forgive and repair broken relationships. The day will be filled with Indian music, dancing, food, fun, and a color throwing ceremony!

WHERE: Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 N Broad Street, Spring Garden

DETAILS: Beach please! Celebrate spring break with Bingo Verifying Divas (BVD’s) for a night of scandalous skits, over the top musical numbers and outrageous outfits. And, winners get a chance to win fabulous prizes.

Cherry Blossom Beer Garden

WHERE: Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center, Lansdowne Dr. &, Horticultural Dr., Fairmount Park

DETAILS: Philly’s Triple Bottom Brewing Co. is collaborating with Bao Bun Studio for a yummy and picturesque day at the park. The pop-up beer garden will have specialty drinks and food from Shofuso Lagers and Japanese radlers to pulled pork bao buns and Asian nachos. If you want to soak up more sun and culture, stick around for the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival.

Young Professionals Night

WHERE: Barnes Foundation, 2025 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Fairmount

DETAILS: If you need a reason to dress up, look no further than Young Professionals Night at the Barnes. Enjoy art, live music, dancing and light bites. There will also be a cash bar and photobooth. And, in the spirit of giving back, all guests are encouraged to bring gently used professional clothing for those in need.

Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum

DETAILS: Andalusia Historic House is open for the season, and that means a slice of nature for the city folks. Guests can do self-guided tours to smell the crab apple trees, and see fields of daffodils, magnolias, Virginia bluebells and more! There will be six Open Saturday events throughout the season which feature special public programs like garden walks, a garden photography day, and a local river celebration.
