This weekend in Philly: Winter festivals, arcade games for the family and more

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly: Join the Barnes Foundation for a percussion performance and a Nina Simone tribute. Chill out at the Founders Philly Freeze-Out winter wonderland. And, for adults who want their own winter party, head down to Freezefest in Delco.

EVENT: Collaborative Sounds at the Barnes Foundation
DATE: Sunday, Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WHERE: Barnes Foundation, 2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Logan Square
DETAILS: The first Sunday of the month means free admission at the Barnes Foundation. This month, celebrate Black History with a percussion performance by Sistah’s Laying Down Hands Collective. There will be poets and storytellers, family-friendly activities, and a tribute to Nina Simone. There’s limited capacity. Registration opens Thursday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m.

EVENT: Family Day at Barcade
DATE/TIME: Sunday, Feb. 5 from 1 to 6 p.m.
WHERE: Barcade, 1114 Frankford Ave., Fishtown
DETAILS: Family Day returns to Barcade this Sunday. Kids of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy an afternoon of arcade games and a yummy kid-friendly menu. There will be fun for the whole family. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

EVENT: Founders Philly Freeze-Out

WHERE: Along Main Street in Manayunk
DETAILS: Can’t get enough of ice sculptures? Manayunk has teamed up with Founders Brewing to turn Main Street into a winter wonderland for the whole family. Catch live ice carving demonstrations every hour, and see more than 20 ice sculptures. There will be Founder beer specials in various restaurants and bars, giveaways, axe throwing, and so much more. EVENT: Freezefest

WHERE: The Ridley House & Heritage Rooms, 2107 MacDade Blvd., Holmes, Delaware County
DETAILS: Join the ninth annual Freezefest this weekend at the Ridley House in Delaware County. There will be cover bands, DJs, and drink specials all throughout the day and into the night. You can expect a silent headphone party, an outdoor axe throwing lounge, a Green Legion Tailgate party and more.

EVENT: Philadelphia Auto Show

WHERE: Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St., Center City
DETAILS: The Philadelphia Auto Show is still going through this weekend. For the first time ever, there will be an interactive 30,000-square-foot track where guests can go through rolling hill obstacles, ride through staggering logs and endure a 15 foot-high hill climb.

EVENT: WinTOUR Scavenger Hunt

WHERE: Fairmount Park, 231 N. Concourse Dr., Fairmount
DETAILS: Connect with nature, history and art on a 2,000-acre trail in Fairmount Park. The self-guided tour takes you to different geographic areas throughout the week, like West River on MLK Drive and Upper East Park above Girard Avenue. The app gives participants 10 tasks throughout the week and offers prize giveaways.
