PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly: Don your green attire for St. Patrick’s Day-themed bar crawls in Philadelphia and New Jersey, welcome the spring equinox by walking, biking or checking out Penn Museum for activities centered around Nowruz, the Persian New Year.

EVENT: Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., afterparty to follow

WHERE: Check in at Concourse, 1635 Market St. (back entrance), Center City

DETAILS: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with over a dozen bars and restaurants offering drink specials and other deals. There’s no set agenda at this special bar crawl, so choose your own adventure and party on.

PRICE: Single tickets are $25

EVENT: St. Patrick’s Day Expedition

DATE/TIME: Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Colebrookdale Railroad, 64 S. Washington St., Boyertown

DETAILS: Wear your best green attire and gather up your shamrocks for this St. Patrick’s Day-inspired train ride. There will be an optional traditional Irish dinner served, along with beer and Irish coffee.

PRICE: Tickets start at $25 for adults, $20 for kids

EVENT: St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl

DATE/TIME: Thursday and Saturday, 2 p.m to 10 p.m.

WHERE: Any participating location in Haddon Township, N.J.

DETAILS: Join the celebration at any of nine participating bars and restaurants for this special St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl. There are no tickets or cover charges, and transportation between participating locations is free.

PRICE: Pay as you go

EVENT: Culturefest! Nowruz

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 11 to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Penn Museum, 3260 South St., University City

DETAILS: Nowruz means “new day” in Persian and is an ancient festival to welcome the start of spring. More than 300 million people around the world take part in the Persian New Year. Penn Museum is celebrating with a Persian bazaar, workshops, tours, performances and more.

PRICE: Included with museum admission

EVENT: Philly Full Moon Ride: Bring on the Spring Season

DATE/TIME: Friday, meet at 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Meet outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Fairmount

DETAILS: Ride under the full moon of the incoming spring season with other fellow cyclists. The route is to be determined and will go anywhere from 10 to 15 miles.

PRICE: Free

EVENT: Spring Equinox Walk

DATE/TIME: Sunday, 12 p.m.

WHERE: John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, 8601 Lindbergh Blvd., Southwest Philadelphia

DETAILS: Spring is coming and what better way to celebrate its return than getting outdoors. Meet at the pavilion by the Visitor Center for this 1.5-mile scenic walk.

PRICE: Free

EVENT: Dine Latino Restaurant Week

DATE/TIME: Through Friday

WHERE: Participating restaurants in Philadelphia

DETAILS:  Support Latino-owned restaurants this week by dining in or getting delivery or takeout from their establishments. “We tend to think of restaurants in Center City, but the reality is that every neighborhood has its own identity,” Chamber of Commerce President Jennifer Rodriguez said. “You can experience, really, the world in Philadelphia.”

PRICE: Prices vary; buy two dinner entrees for a free appetizer or dessert

EVENT: Happy Hour at the Kimmel Center featuring Snacktime Philly and DJ Kyon Williams

DATE/TIME: Friday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St., Center City

DETAILS: Enjoy the sounds of local brass band Snacktime Philly, who are notorious for staging outdoor shows in Rittenhouse Square in this special free show.
