PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend, learn more about Veterans Day at museums across the region. The Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival kicks off, as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show. There are plenty of fun things to do this weekend in and around Philly.

Veterans Day Weekend at the Museum

EVENT: Veterans Day Weekend at the Museum

WHERE: Museum of the American Revolution, 101 S. 3rd. St., Old City

DETAILS: The Museum of the American Revolution is offering free admission to veterans all weekend long in honor of Veterans Day. On Friday, the Philly POPS Festival quintet will perform patriotic songs and there will be a ceremonial presentation of colors. There will also be a walking tour, postcard writing opportunities and gallery talks.

Veterans Day at the National Constitution Center

EVENT: Veterans Day at the National Constitution Center
DATE/TIME: Friday, programming 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and online

WHERE: National Constitution Center, 525 Arch St., Old City

DETAILS: The National Constitution Center honors veterans with free admission to vets and programming, including a wreath-laying ceremony, letter-writing stations to say thank you and a discussion with Vietnam veteran John Campbell.

Veterans Day on the Battleship New Jersey

EVENT: Veterans Day on the Battleship New Jersey
DATE/TIME: Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Battleship New Jersey, 62 Battleship Place, Camden, New Jersey

DETAILS: The Battleship will salute veterans with a free special ceremony at 11 a.m. with keynote remarks from military historian John Siegfried. Veterans can get a tour of the ship for an admission of a donation of any amount. You can also donate $50 to fire a salute during Veterans Day programming.

Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival

EVENT: Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival
DATE: Saturday through Nov. 19

WHERE: Various locations in the Greater Philadelphia region

DETAILS: The 42nd annual Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival kicks off this weekend at Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History with the Philadelphia premiere of “Karaoke,” a dramedy about love and “chance happenings that can forever change our outlook on life.” Films will run at locations in Wynnewood, Elkins Park and Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show

EVENT: Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show

WHERE: Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St., Center City

DETAILS: Now in its 46th year, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show showcases handcrafted work from 195 artists around the U.S. The show is about more than just vendors making sales; it educates people on the different types of art and showing them what goes into creating it, according to Nancy O’Meara, show director.
