Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, marks the one-year anniversary of the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven of their friends. A helicopter carrying them to a youth basketball practice crashed about 30 miles north of Los Angeles.
Bryant's death sent shockwaves across the globe to fans and non-fans alike and left the sports world and basketball community shaken.
Players began paying homage to the 42-year-old Hall of Famer on Monday. Kyrie Irving arrived for the Heat-Nets game wearing a No. 8 Lakers jersey, and Montrezel Harrell showed up for the Lakers game in Cleveland with a Kobe Bryant-themed mask.
The Cleveland Cavaliers played a touching video tribute to Bryant on Monday night.
Other athletes, celebrities and members of the media took to social media to remember him.
