PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Sunday’s Eagles loss to Washington could be the last time some fan favorites suit up for the Birds. Tight End Zach Ertz became emotional on Monday while contemplating his future with the team.

"My time in Philadelphia has been the best experience I’ve ever had," Ertz said.

Ertz has been an Eagle for eight seasons. He has made a lot of catches and won a lot of games for the Birds — most notably Super Bowl LII. Now, after a down season, which began with a somewhat public contract dispute, he says he's not sure what the future holds.

"I don’t know. I want to be here," he said.

Ertz explained that, despite what’s been reported, he holds no grudges toward Eagles owner Howie Roseman. However, it is possible that Sunday was his last game in Eagles green.

"I wish the fans were there, honestly. This whole year’s been tough without them in the Linc," he said. "Yesterday would’ve been fun to have them there."

On the subject of fans, Ertz got emotional describing the foundation he built in Philadelphia.

"I think this city is the best city to play for, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And the city means a lot to me, means a lot to my family, and I’m thankful."
