PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — After their raucous sweep of Miami in the Wild Card round, the Phillies are heading to Atlanta to begin the best-of-five National League Division Series.
As the Phils' team buses pulled away from Citizens Bank Park on Thursday afternoon, diehard fans Robert and Lisa Urbanski of Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, were there to see them off.
The Urbanskis stayed in Philadelphia after seeing Wednesday night’s Wild Card clincher. When they returned to the team store at the ballpark Thursday, they noticed the team buses.
“We just saw that the players were leaving and so we decided to hang around and see if we could get a glimpse of them,” Lisa said.
“Schwarber waved. Harper waved. Marsh, Bohm, J.T. Realmuto — the whole team,” Robert said. He pumped his fist in the air as the team buses pulled away.
Robert says the whole ballpark shook with the Phils’ Game Two win over the Marlins Wednesday. “It was electric," he said. "I don’t know why we paid for a seat because nobody sat.”
The Urbanskis are season ticket holders, so they say they’ll be back at the Bank next week, when the division series between the Phils and Braves moves back to Philadelphia for Games Three and Four.
