PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Fans had a lot to cheer about in this one. Aaron Nola pitched seven strong innings and JT Realmuto and Bryson Stott provided the power as the Phillies beat the Miami Marlins 7-1 to sweep this best-of-three series 2-0.

The Phils got two in the third inning on an RBI double by Kyle Schwarber and a single by Trea Turner.

Realmuto hit the Phils' first home run in the postseason in the fourth inning to make it 3-0.

And then Stott broke the game open in the sixth inning with the second grand slam in Phillies postseason history. The first, of course, being Shane Victorino's slam in the National League Division Series in 2008.

“I was running around the bases in kind of a blackout,” Stott said. “I don’t know, I have to go back and watch it.”

The Phillies beat the fish 7-1, and now they go on to the National League Division Series starting Saturday in Atlanta against the Braves.

There’s a reason the Phillies call the postseason Red October: They just don’t lose at Citizens Bank Park. At least, not often.

The Phillies, who won the 2008 World Series at home, moved to 24-11 in the postseason at the ballpark, the top postseason winning percentage for any team in any park (minimum 20 games).

“I think we’ve got a really good club, and I think we’re built for series-type baseball,” Thomson said.
