PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It’s not a bad time to be a Philly sports fan. They couldn’t have asked for a better weekend: The Eagles are still undefeated and the Phillies are moving on to the next round of the playoffs.

Often Philadelphia sports fans shake their heads in frustration after a tough loss, but after the weekend, any head-shaking must be out of disbelief — all this good news coming at once?

Eagles fans travel well, and they made their presence at the weekend's Phillies and Eagles games known, loud and clear.

Some of those fans took the red-eye home to Philadelphia International Airport. That includes Bob from Glenn Mills. A rasp in his voice betrayed the excitement of the weekend.

“Yeah, it was a great time. It really was a great time. I couldn’t believe how many Eagles fans were there it was like a home game,” said Bob, who declined to give his full name.

On Saturday, it was the Phillies who took care of business in St. Louis. Brian from South Jersey, who kept close tabs on the Phils while out west, is wrapping his head around all this winning happening at once.

“It’s kind of all unbelievable, but I’ll take it," said Brian, who declined to give his full name. "We tripped and fell into the playoffs, and where we are going on to the next round, and everybody loves it. It was a Cardinals sweep this weekend, and it was great.”

Mike from Northeast Philly, who declined to give his last name, said he got to enjoy the two Phillies wins while he was out in Arizona for the Eagles game.

“It was amazing. Great three wins. Beat up on Cardinals all weekend. It was nuts,” he said. “We took over that stadium. It was probably 50/50, at least.”

And at that game, there was plenty of Eagles green in the stands, said Donnell, who declined to give his last name. It was a big party, he said.

“It was a good time. Down to the wire. It was a great time, a lot of atmosphere, a lot of energy. It was awesome,” he said.

Brian from South Jersey, who declined to give his full name, said the win made Arizona feel like home.

“Oh man, it was amazing. Walking into the game was like walking into the Linc. So many green jerseys. A lot of fans there, of course. It made a great atmosphere for everybody,” he said.

Next, the Phillies open up the NLDS in Atlanta on Tuesday. The first home Phils playoff game in 11 years is on Friday. Then Sunday night, the icing on the cake: The 5-0 Philadelphia Eagles host the Cowboys.
