PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Rowan University softball team in Glassboro, New Jersey, is headed to the Division III Women’s College Series in Salem, Virginia, for the fourth straight season.
The Profs are 42-9 after eliminating Colby in the Super Regionals, winning the best-of-three 2-0. The Profs threw shutouts in both wins — in fact, their last three postseason wins have all been shutouts.
Rowan head coach Kim Wilson talks about her team coming together after an uneven 5-4 start to the campaign.
“There’s days where you’re going, how are we going to get there, and then as the season built and continued to go, we knew we had kids that were able,” she said. “If they did the things we needed them to do, we would be a good team as the season went on. And they worked hard, they busted their rear ends doing so many different things, and were coachable.”
Rowan opens play against the top seed in the field, Virginia Wesleyan, on Thursday morning. Virginia Wesleyan is 50-0 this season.
