PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks is looking to bounce back after missing the entire 2020 season due to a torn Achilles tendon.

During his recovery, Brooks had to drop down to about 285 pounds — from 330. To get back to his playing weight for this season, Brooks called in the big guns: Taco Bell Party Packs.

“I had some time” to put the weight back on, the three-time Pro Bowler said. “It wasn’t just in a matter of a month. Eating more, not eating as healthy. I put a little bit of Taco Bell back in there. That’s my favorite, so a little bit of that here and there.

“But just eating a lot more, making sure that the weight that you do put back on is good weight.”

Brooks said he would order a pack that included 12 tacos and eat six one day, the rest another — though he would have preferred the since-retired Mexican pizzas.

“I always knew that I obviously needed to get back up because I’m not gonna go out there and get thrown on my head,” he added.

Putting on weight — good or bad — never sounded so delicious.
