PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Another person has been shot dead in Philadelphia, adding to the record-high number of homicide victims this year.

Investigators say police were called to Musgrave and Slocum streets in an East Mount Airy neighborhood on a phone tip about a fight between two young men, one dressed all in black and wearing a mask, and reports of a shooting.

When police arrived, they found 18-year-old Lionel Samuels shot in the stomach and back.

The caller said they saw a man running south on Musgrave Street and then around the corner on Phil-Ellena Street.

Investigators searching the area found an injured 21-year-old man on Slocum Street, just a short distance from the shooting. He was unconscious, with an injury to the head. Police say it was not a gunshot wound.

Officers took him to the hospital and are interviewing him.

There have been no arrests, and no weapons were found at the scene.
