PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One person is dead after a shooting in Chester County Friday evening that police say came after a dispute among three people.
Tredyffrin Township police say they got calls around 5:15 p.m. about a shooting on Mount Pleasant Avenue near Upper Gulph Road in Wayne.
“As they arrived, they learned there was a deceased male in the street,” said Mike Beaty, superintendent of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department. “And there were two other subjects — two other male subjects — that were involved in the matter.”
Beaty says one of the men stayed at the scene while the one believed to be the shooter ran away.
A gun was recovered at the scene and the man was later arrested.
James Scott lives nearby. He told our partners at NBC10 that neighbors are shaken up and trying to process what happened.
“Nowhere is safe anymore, nowhere. But all the neighbors here are good, everyone’s calm. Everyone knows everyone,” he said.
Beaty says there’s no danger to the community.
The District Attorney’s Office has not yet announced charges against anyone involved.
