PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 16-year-old boy is recovering after police said he was shot multiple times late Friday night in the Strawberry Mansion section of North Philadelphia.
Authorities said the shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. near 33rd and York streets, close to Ridge Avenue. Responding officers found the teen with gunshot wounds to his left shoulder and leg.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Authorities recovered five spent shell casings at the scene. The suspect is described as a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Police said the motive for the shooting is unknown. This is an ongoing investigation.
