PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested two 19-year-olds in connection with the fatal shooting of a Philadelphia rapper in Juniata Park. A third suspect remains at large.
Qidere Johnson, known locally as rapper LGP Qua, was shot shortly after 4:30 p.m. on May 11 near the intersection of M and East Luzerne streets during what police say was an apparent robbery. They say three suspects fled the scene.
On Saturday, police announced Joshua Thomas-Coleman of Mayfair and Abdul Boyd of Frankford were charged with murder in connection with Johnson’s death.
They are still searching for 21-year-old Amir Earley, also of Frankford.
Johnson was known for his lyrics about gun violence and other socially conscious topics.
