PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A fire chief and an assistant fire chief in Berks County were killed Saturday while riding a UTV searching for a missing woman.
Walnuttown Fire and Rescue posted on social media announcing the loss of Chief Jeff Buck and Assistant Chief Robert Shick, adding "rest easy chiefs, we got it from here."
The Fleetwood Police Department said they were on the shoulder of Kutztown Road when a car driving the opposite direction swerved and struck them head-on.
A man and woman in the car attempted to flee but were later caught and arrested on Krause Road.
No funeral arrangements have been announced.
