ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (KYW Newsradio) — The Bamboozle festival is off.

The three-day music festival had been a New Jersey staple, bringing huge rockers including Foo Fighters and Bon Jovi to the Garden State from 2003 to 2012.

It was scheduled to return May 5-7 after an 11-year hiatus in Atlantic City at Bader Field, featuring bands like Limp Bizkit, Motionless in White and Papa Roach. But the organizer of the festival says the promoter didn't come up with all of the insurance, emergency evacuation plans and other required documents before Thursday – a deadline that was put in place last week after the city had been requesting the documents for months.

"For an event of this size, we typically like to have this settled at least 45 days prior to the event," said Atlantic City Chief Information Officer Andrew Kramer.

"Atlantic City Solicitor's Office did send a letter to the attorney for the organizers of the Bamboozle festival, letting them know that the festival will not be happening. The city will not be issuing the final permits for the festival."

Fans complained on social media that after tickets went on sale, the promoter announced "high-priced headliners'' would not be performing. The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs says it's investigating 21 complaints about the festival.

The Bamboozle website says fans should seek refunds at their point of purchase.
