PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three Philadelphia chefs and one restaurant are James Beard Award finalists.
Phila Lorn, owner of Cambodian noodle house Mawn in Bella Vista, is a finalist for Emerging Chef.
In the Best Chef Mid-Atlantic category, two chefs were nominated: Amanda Shulman, of Center City’s Her Place Supper Club, and Jesse Ito, of Royal Sushi and Izakaya in Queen Village.
The Lovers Bar at Friday Saturday Sunday in Rittenhouse Square was nominated for Outstanding Bar.
Fourteen Philly restaurants and chefs were named semifinalists by the James Beard Foundation back in January. Judges narrowed the nominees down to a list of finalists. Winners will be announced on June 16 in Chicago.
