PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three people have been charged with stealing more than $700,000 from a college in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office says that while 41-year-old Arion Singh was the vice president of finance at Manor College between January 2023 and April 2025, he stole more than $714,000 from the Jenkintown school.

Singh, from Huntingdon, is charged with theft, corrupt organization, and several other crimes, along with 39-year-old Sydney Lovelace from Chicago, who authorities say is Singh’s girlfriend, and 46-year-old Amar Persad.

According to accusations in charging documents, Singh used college credit cards for more than $450,000 in unauthorized purchases, including rent for a New York City apartment, a country club membership, and debt collection agency payments.

The affidavit of probable cause stated that Lovelace started a “shell” company, and Singh would send handwritten checks rather than computer-printed checks the college typically issued.

It also noted that Persad admitted he would overcharge Manor College for electrical work through his company, and charged them for supplies, while Singh used his college-issued card to buy those supplies.

Bail was set at $500,000 unsecured for Singh, and $250,000 unsecured for Lovelace and Persad, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for later this month.
