
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A four-year-old boy is in critical condition and two others are injured after a driver lost control of his car and struck another in the city’s Holmesburg neighborhood.
Philadelphia police say the accident happened along the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Solly Avenue around 5 p.m.
They say a 67-year-old man lost control of his red Hyundai while driving northbound on Frankford Avenue. His car struck the driver's side of a white Volkswagon going southbound on Frankford Avenue while it was stopping at a traffic light.
A 26-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy inside the Volkswagon were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman is expected to be OK but the boy is in critical condition.
The 67-year-old is in police custody. He was taken to a hospital where he's in critical condition.
