PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A fourth victim in last summer’s violent Grays Ferry block party shooting has died.
During a motions hearing Wednesday morning, prosecutors told Judge Scott O’Keefe that Zamir Satchell, who was shot in the face during the July 7, 2025, melee, died last week.
Although they are still awaiting the autopsy report about the exact cause of Satchell’s death, prosecutors plan to file additional homicide charges.
Three others were killed that night as 15 shooters opened fire at a block party along South Etting Street. Nine others were wounded, including Satchell, who battled to stay alive for nearly a year.
Authorities said those who fired their guns were shooting at “phantom people,” and they are still unsure what sparked the gunfire.
Several people have been charged. However, just last week, prosecutors withdrew charges against one defendant, Jihad Gray.
Four other men are being held for trial in the case. Two of them, Daquan Brown and Terrell Frazier, were in court on Wednesday and will now have first-degree murder charges reinstated.
Police are still searching for another suspect.
