PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A chaotic scene played out in Feltonville on Saturday morning after an armed robbery turned into a barricade situation involving five suspects and their three dogs.
Police just after 8 a.m. received reports of an armed robbery on B Street near Loudon Street. Officers found a victim who had been threatened with a gun and a baseball bat, and robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. Authorities say he was also attacked by the suspects' dogs.
He was taken to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital with injuries to his head and legs, and was listed in stable condition.
Officials say, after the robbery, the five suspects—three men and two women—fled to a nearby property on B Street, where police declared a barricade just before 8:30.
Police eventually took the three men and two women into custody without further incident after a little more than a half-hour. One firearm was also recovered.
The three dogs were taken by animal control.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
