PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people were killed and three were wounded in a shooting Monday night in Cobbs Creek. Police are searching for the masked shooter who they said opened fire from a car.
It happened around 8:40 p.m. near 60th and Delancy streets, outside 318 Bar. Investigators said a masked gunman opened fire on a crowd from a white vehicle.
The two deceased victims were taken to a nearby hospital by medics on scene. Police said both men suffered gunshot wounds to the chest. They were later identified as 24-year-old Paul Cobb and 24-year-old Naasir Boyd.

The three other victims were taken to the hospital by private vehicle. A 36-year-old man remains in critical condition after he was shot in the stomach. The two others, ages 54 and 35, are stable and recovering from gunshot wounds to their legs.
There was a mass police presence at the scene. Investigators said they recovered at least 15 spent shell casings.
Cobb’s mother, Tiffany Thurston, said she was making dinner for her son when she got an alert that five people had just been around the corner.
“I would never have thought in my wildest dreams that my son would get killed on the block he grew up on,” she said. “I am devastated — I am angry.”
Sources told KYW Newsradio that Boyd was a known member of a gang that has been feuding with another group, and they’re investigating whether it's connected to the shooting. Police said there are surveillance cameras in the area, but it’s unclear whether any of them have been helpful in the investigation. A motive is not yet known.
As with every homicide, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Gun violence in Philadelphia is the lowest it's been since the 1960s. According to Philadelphia police data, there have been at least 21 homicides so far this year — 29 fewer than this time last year.
