PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A five-year-old boy has died after a truck struck him Wednesday evening, Philadelphia police said.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. on Eastwood Street near Longshore Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
The boy ran out onto the street when the pickup truck, driven by a 46-year-old man, hit him.
The boy was taken to St. Christopher Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 6:45 p.m.
The driver of the truck remained on scene as police investigated the crash.
