UPPER DARBY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — In an effort to make it easier for people on the go in Delaware County to get their COVID-19 vaccine, a weekly pop-up clinic will be in place at a major transportation hub.

Every Thursday between 3 p.m and 7 p.m. in the main lobby of SEPTA's 69th Street Transportation Center in Upper Darby, commuters will be able to roll up their sleeves and get the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Delaware County Councilman Kevin Madden said many who haven't been vaccinated yet don't doubt the need for the vaccine.

"A lot of folks who haven't gotten vaccinated, it's purely because they are busy and it’s not easy for them to take time out of their day, time away from work to go and get vaccinated," he said.

"What Delaware County is doing is we are doing everything we can to bring the vaccine to folks to make it as convenient as humanly possible."

The vaccine is free. No appointment, health insurance or ID is required.

The weekly clinic is a partnership between the county, Delaware County COVID-19 Taskforce and SEPTA.
