73-year-old Moorestown man charged with killing wife

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 73-year-old Moorestown, New Jersey, man is accused of killing his wife in their home over the weekend. Gerald Slavin has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and strangulation, the Burlington County prosecutor and Moorestown Township public
safety director announced Sunday.

Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, Moorestown Township police say, they responded to a call at the Slavin’s residence in the Moorestowne Woods Apartment Homes. Police say they discovered the found the body of Linda Slavin, 73, in the couple’s bedroom.

The Burlington County medical examiner later determined she died from strangulation.

Her husband was arrested without incident and was held at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly pending a detention hearing in Superior Court.
