SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Another candidate for U.S. Senate in New Jersey has dropped out ahead of the June primary.
TV journalist Alex Zdan ended his campaign for the Republican nomination Monday. He joins Democrat first lady Tammy Murphy, who called it quits the day before.
Zdan had won support in a few places before recently revealing a DUI arrest from a few years ago. He says it's best for him to avoid a long, contentious and expensive primary race.
Jersey Shore hotelier Curtis Bashaw and Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner are left competing for the GOP nomination.
Congressman Andy Kim is the presumptive Democratic nominee in the race to replace Bob Menendez, who says may run as an independent if he can beat corruption charges in court.
