Man arrested in connection with Ardmore American Legion post shooting

ARDMORE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting inside an American Legion post nearly two months ago.

Police responded to a call around 7 p.m. on May 27 about gunshots fired at the Spencer Reid American Legion Post on Simpson Road.

They say a 26-year-old was targeted following a disturbance at the post earlier in the day. The man was shot multiple times and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was released after extensive medical treatment.

Police say the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Andrew McCutchen of Philadelphia, fled the scene. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 9, police tracked him in Williamsport and arrested him.

He is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm.
