ARDMORE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for the man they suspect of shooting a man inside an American Legion post on Monday.
Lower Merion police responded to a call around 7 p.m. reporting gunshots fired at the Spencer Reid American Legion Post on Simpson Road.
Investigators say a 26-year-old man was shot several times after an earlier disturbance at the post. The victim was taken to the hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Police have identified the gunman as 35-year-old Andrew McCutchen from Philadelphia. They say someone followed him outside and fired several shots at his SUV as he drove away from the shooting.
It’s not clear if anyone in the SUV was hit by gunfire.
No one else was struck by gunfire inside or outside the post. Police are working to identify the second gunman.
A warrant has been issued for McCutchen for attempted homicide. Police say he is 5-feet, 11-inches tall, weighs about 220 pounds, and has a beard and medium-length hair in braids or twists. He has two teardrop tattoos under his right eye.
McCutchen was driving a dark-grey Chevrolet Trailblazer that may have bullet holes or shattered glass, with a bumper sticker that says "Rest Awhile Ride for Miles."
Lower Merion police ask anyone with information on McCutchen or the SUV to give them a call.
